1. This sounds too good to be true. What’s the catch?
The only catch is that we ask you to complete an impact survey. This helps us gather important data to share with our supporters, showing how their generosity is helping children. Their support keeps this program running for families like yours!
2. Do I need to prove my income?
No, there are no income requirements to participate.
3. Can my child get help with a different activity later?
Yes! We fund one activity per child at a time, but your child can switch activities whenever they’d like. Our goal is to help them find something they love. Sometimes, it takes a few tries to discover their passion, and that’s perfectly okay!
4. How long can my child receive services like lessons or programs?
Your child can participate for as long as your family remains under state supervision or until your child graduates high school or turns 18—whichever comes first.
5. Who is eligible to participate?
Our program is for children who have been incarcerated or children with a parent or guardian who is currently incarcerated. This includes biological and non-biological children in the same household, such as stepchildren, foster children, or other children living with a grandparent, aunt, or uncle. We understand that incarceration affects everyone in the family, and we’re here to help all children in the home.
6. Are there any costs to participate?
No, our services are completely free for eligible families. Thanks to our generous donors, all activity costs are covered.
7. What types of activities do you support?
We support a wide range of activities, including sports, arts, music, STEM programs, and more. If your child is interested in something specific, let us know—we’ll do our best to make it happen!
8. How do I sign up?
It’s easy. Start by scheduling a phone or video call with our onboarding specialist.
Then fill out the application form on our website. Having the application completed ahead of time allows us to focus on how best to get your child set up in the activity efficiently.
9. Can more than one child in my family participate?
Yes! Each child in your family can participate. We can support one activity per child at a time, but all eligible children in your household are welcome to join the program.
10. How are activities paid for?
We work directly with the organizations providing the activities. Once your child is registered, we take care of the payment so you don’t have to worry about it.
If your child simply needs equipment in order to participate, You will be asked to fill out a purchase order with links. We will order the items and have them sent to you.
11. What if my child wants to quit an activity?
That’s no problem! If your child isn’t enjoying their current activity, they can switch to something else. We want to help them explore and find what truly makes them happy.
12. How is this program funded?
Our program is funded through donations from individuals, businesses, and grants. Every dollar goes directly toward helping children access the activities they love.
13. Can I refer another family to your program?
Absolutely! We’re always looking to help more families. Please share our website or contact us for more information.
14. Can I stay updated on program news and opportunities?
Yes! You can subscribe to our newsletter or follow us on social media to stay informed about new programs, updates, and events.
